‘Shershaah’ Delivers on Expectation, Wins The Dadasaheb Phalke Awards For The Best Movie 2022

As part of the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2022, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra attended the event on Sunday evening. Indian cinema got a number of awards this evening. Shershaah movie, directed by Vishnuvardhan, had actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani winning the Critics’ Best Actor and Best Actress awards. As part of the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, the Dadasaheb Phalke Twitter account shared a video of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s performance.

The Actor & Actress

In Shershaah- Captain Vikram Batra movie, Sidharth Malhotra won the Critics’ Best Actor award for his performances as Param Vir Chakra-winning Captain Vikram Batra. Also, Kaira won the Critics’ Best Actress award for her portrayal of Captain Vikram’s girlfriend Dimple Cheema.

About Shershaah Movie

History

However, war stories can be as heartwarming as they can be heartbreaking. You see a soldier in uniform who has the courage to protect the nation from enemies and is willing to sacrifice his life for a million strangers. Moreover, there were casualties on both sides in the Kargil War of 1999 between India and Pakistan. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s new film, Shershaah, focuses on this topic. Additionally, the film centers around the life and death of Captain Vikram Batra, who was killed in enemy crossfire while trying to save an injured colleague. Captain Vikram Batra was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest gallantry award, for his display of courage, bravery, and leadership during the Kargil War.

Shershaah, produced by Karan Johar and Shabbir Boxwala, celebrates all the little (and very important) details about the life of Captain Batra. Also, with its portrayal of his love interest Dimple (Kiara Advani) as well as its adaptation of Pepsi’s popular 90s slogan, ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’, 

Plus, Shershaah is a tearjerker that comes just in time for Independence Day.

Capt. Batra’s chemistry plays a significant role on both fronts of his life – personal and professional. Thanks to Karan Johar, Malhotra and Advani’s love story has become a Bollywood selling point. However, Malhotra’s role as a formidable officer in the Indian Army earns him points.
